I am the Director of world-wide Standards for Lexmark International.  My team has world-wide corporate responsibility for developing and managing Lexmark's standards strategy and participation.  Before becoming Director of Standards, I was the Director of Alliances and Standards. That team had divisional responsibility for standards, product planning for connectivity and digital office products, leveraged development and OEM engineering.  Previously at Lexmark (and at IBM before the spin-off of Lexmark) I managed the development of the original networking adapters for printers.  These were among the first products in the industry which enabled the direct connection of a printer to a network.  Prior to that, I worked on the hardware and software for printers and typewriters.

I am a graduate of the University of Louisville's Speed Scientific School with Bachelor of Science (1978)  and Master of Engineering (1979) degrees in Electrical Engineering.  I am a member of both Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor societies.  During my later years at the University of Louisville, I became a student member of the IEEE and have continued to be an IEEE member for 32 years.
